Shot Blasting
Production begins in the plate blast area. TSI has custom designed its blast cabinet and plate feed facilities to economically and rapidly blast plate to any of the steel structures painting council (SSPC) profile and cleanliness standards. Pre blasting the steel also provides clean material to the cutting, rolling, and welding processes that results in lower consumable usage, fewer quality problems in the weldments, and lower maintenance costs. Blasting to SSPC-SP-10 near white is accomplished at speeds of 60 to 70 square feet per minute.
